China International Forum on Cognitive Linguistics £¨CIFCL£© is an annual international conference in combination with an intensive training program of ¡°summer institute¡±. CIFCL is aimed at basic and applied cognitive science research, with a focus on cognitive linguistics. It hosts the latest theories and data from the world's best cognitive science researchers with a research focus on language and cognition from disciplines including linguistics, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, artificial intelligence, computer science, and education. That is the wider range of disciplines within cognitive science. Each year, in addition to the core of the forum, that is, the forum speakers' lecture series, the general participants are invited to submit papers within the whole range of cognitive science. We organizers endeavor to satisfy the general demand from the largest possible research population for latest theories, and for communication with the original scholars. In the organizing practice of the past successful forums, the CIFCL has gradually acquired some features of its own as follows:

Original

CIFCL hosts researchers as forum speakers with original contribution to their own research fields.

Systematic

Each invited forum speaker delivers a series of 10 lectures on their research expertise, which approximates a graduate course in teaching load. With this feature, CIFCL equals to ¡°summer institute¡± in training, and is favored by most MA/PhD students.

Interdisciplinary

CIFCL invites scholars from the 6 subject disciplines of cognitive science, including linguistics, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, artificial intelligence, and computer science, with a special focus on language and cognition.

Latest Trends

The latest theories and research trends should be reflected in the lectures series.

Non-profitable

The cost in inviting the forum speakers is from a separate grant, none of the expenses in organizing is taken from the participants¡¯ registration fee. Registration fee will remain the lowest in this country comparing with the similar type of programs, and used only on forum materials and on participants.

Participants-friendly

The whole program and the format of organizing are participants oriented, academic irrelevant procedures and activities are not arranged.

Publication Series

CIFCL hosts and sponsors two publication series, one is the journal of International Journal of Cognitive Linguistics (IJCL http://ijcl.buaa.edu.cn/) published by Nova Science Publisher in New York (https://www.novapublishers.com/), the other is the Eminent Linguists¡¯ Lectures Series, that is, the video DVD of the forum speakers¡¯ lectures and text transcription are published by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, Beijing (http://www.fltrp.com/).

Conference-type

CIFCL is also an international conference; parallel presentations are arranged for the participants with papers. Participants can register to attend the forum with or without presenting a paper.
