  About Forum

                                                                      China International Forum on Cognitive Linguistics (CIFCL)
 
CIFCL is an annual international conference type program taking place in Beijing. It seeks to invite the most prominent scholars to the forum with a focus on language and cognition research from disciplines including linguistics, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, artificial intelligence, and computer science. CIFCL endeavors to satisfy the general research needs of the largest possible number of researchers and students in the research field. In the organization practice of the past decade, the CIFCL has gradually acquired some prominent features of its own.
 
--- Originality
CIFCL only invites scholars as forum speakers with original contribution to their own research fields.
 
--- Systematicity
Each invited forum speaker delivers a series of 10 lectures on his or her research expertise, which approximates a graduate course in teaching load. With this feature, CIFCL equals to a kind of ¡°summer institute¡± in training, which then attracts large number of MA/PhD students.
 
--- Frontiers of Research
The latest research trends can always combined into the lectures.
 
--- Non-profitable
The forum offers public free lectures, none of the expenses  in organizing the forum (it costs around RMB 100,000 on each forum ) will be taken from the participants.
 
--- Participants-friendly
Participants oriented in the programs, academic irrelevant procedures and activities are not arranged.
 
--- Publications
CIFCL caters for two publication series, one is the journal of International Journal of Cognitive Linguistics (IJCL http://ijcl.buaa.edu.cn/) published by Nova Science Publisher in New York (https://www.novapublishers.com/), the other is the Eminent Linguists¡¯ Lectures Series, that is, the forum speakers¡¯ lectures are video-taped and then transcribed into texts and made into DVD, to be published by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, Beijing (http://www.fltrp.com/).
